Target Dress Code
There are different departments at Target and some departments have different dress codes.
Employees Working in the beauty department wear black shirts, pants, and shoes and it has to be business casual.Cart attendants are allowed to wear baseball-style hats and shorts in summer but the color of the shorts has to be khaki.The backroom dress code is a red top, khaki bottoms, or blue jeans.Customer service representatives can wear red shirts, name tags, and khakis.Maroons and red are accepted colors for shirts. Packers wear black shirts with khaki.The management dress code is the same red shirt, khaki pants.Starbucks in Target has an all-black casual outfit.
At the super target, the grocery and pharmacy departments and those areas that require different items such as green produce aprons or a white deli chef coats or hats for bakery and deli or coats in the meat market does not require a redshirt for a dress code. For instance, Pharmacists and practitioners wear white lab coats.
These items like coats and hats are provided by the target to use at work. At super target, those who work in these departments are not expected to wear red shirts.Those executive and exempt employees will be required to wear business casual clothing.
What to wear at the Target job interview?
Most people who have gone to the interview suggest wearing business casual to show them your serious side. One should dress for the part they are applying for. On orientation day, you can wear business casual. Sweaters, hoodies, polo shirts are allowed but the color has to be the accepted ones. For the blue jeans, they prefer mostly dark color ones. But torn and ripped jeans are not allowed.As for jewelry, anything that gets in the way of work is not allowed but it’s common sense not to wear jewelry that dangles as it can be dangerous.
Appearance rules
Target wants their employees to look the part. You have to be ready to work so for that you need to dress the part.
A comfortable tee and sneakers with khaki pants will do you good as it gives you ample opportunity to move freely.
Most of the time on the floor you will be busy hence the type of dress code is made for that.
But those working in retail that have customer-facing work have few restrictions on the shoes but wearing flip flops and open-toe shoes are not allowed.
Target also does not endorse wearing old torn shoes.
As for the shirt, any plaid shirt or a polka dot shirt, or a shirt with a logo other than its own is a no-go.
As for the pants, the classic khaki pants and jeans (blue preferably dark ones) and black jeans are allowed.
Jeans were allowed from 2019 onwards. Some stores might not allow Jeans as a dress code even though it is approved by a corporation. So it is better to check with the particular store before deciding on wearing it.
Target gives ample freedom to its employees in terms of appearance but there are a few things to remember. You have to be neat in your presentation. There are some types of clothes that target does not allow. It is strictly declared by Target in its employee handbook. They are:-

Target design for their dress code is for them to stand out in the crowd. Their bright color shirt dress code does have a lively and fun feel attached to it. Though Target has a pretty strict dress code for most employees, it is pretty neat and easy to follow. You just have to stick with the company’s uniform guidelines and you will be okay. But one thing to note is that Target does not give you uniforms because they do not have an official uniform for its employees, but guidelines for what to wear and not to wear are given.
