Logo Channel
A basic cable channel owned by ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks, a division of ViacomCBS, Logo Channel is often abbreviated as Logo and stylized as Logo. As of January 2016, Logo was received by approximately 50 million households. It was the first advertiser-sponsored commercial television channel working towards the LGBTQ community in the United States when it was launched on June 30, 2005. Matt Farber, ex MTV executive originated the channel. Brian Graden, its first president, was ranked 15th on Out’s list of the 15 most powerful gay people in America in 2007. VH1 MegaHits was replaced by Logo in 2007. When Logo was at its height, it was the only TV network that provided LGBTQ viewers with content that reflected their own experiences and real-life situations. Logo’s programming initially included movies, music videos, reality television, romance films, news, stand-up comedy, travel shows, and syndicated shows with unexpected typescripts or popular with peculiar viewers. These days, most of the programming consists of repeated episodes of sitcoms. Nevertheless, Logo enjoys the viewership of millions of people from diverse backgrounds and remains a remarkable TV network.
