So we tried this new app called Croissant, which unlocks the city’s most coveted enclaves: its co-working spaces. Like a lovechild of Airbnb and ClassPass, Croissant offers office space, on-demand. Its easy interface lets you browse an array of local facilities and reserve a space for meetings or work sessions with a swipe of the finger. Eager to give it a spin, my coworkers and I recently booked a spot at Covo, conveniently located in SOMA. It’s a gorgeous, airy space full of exposed brick, reclaimed wood, air plant terrariums, and local artwork — and just happens to double as a public cafe and taproom. Invigorated by caffeine and the homey vibe, the three of us knocked out hours of work. After lunch, a change of scenery was in order, so we strolled a few short blocks to the Westfield Center and checked into Bespoke. Its eclectic mid-century modern design and upbeat, buzzy atmosphere gave it a completely different feel than Covo (not to mention the climbing wall and bocce ball court!). We went home feeling content, productive — and rather disenchanted with the idea of ever working in coffee shops again. Croissant has opened up a world of unlimited WIFI, nap pods, beautiful design, unlimited coffee, and the ability to meet and network with like-minded young professionals, all at an extremely reasonable cost. I’m mostly happy however because my membership entitled me to not get out of my pajamas until I’m damn well ready to get to work. // Want to jump-start your own co-working experience?
